Our Story

ATAW is our idea of how we would like to travel. We have been both individually backpacking South America long-term and during each of our trips lived experiences that usually don’t open up to travellers during a two-week stay. 

Being back in Europe and telling our friends and families about our adventures, we realised that many of them were eager to venture abroad themselves, but didn’t know where to start. Also, lots of people don’t have the possibility to go on a long-term trip. 

We thought of a way to make these long-term travel experiences available for everyone and this is how the idea of ATAW came into place.

After months of planning, we headed to South America to put together routes and find local partners and organisations, which shared our values, to work with. Now that we have found reliable partners and experiences off the usual tourist route, we are able to bring you on these adventures with us.
